I can’t really imagine anything more enjoyable than a sunrise session with these two lovebirds! It’s always a win to have creatives enthusiastically collaborate on a vision you have in your mind and watch it unfold.

Our shoot was centered around an amazing handmade reclamation dress by Trista Smith out of Canada for Reclamation. Her garments are absolute masterpieces!

When determining the location, we wanted something that would be complementary, yet not compete with the focus on Alisha and Matt. Sharkfin Cove, a few miles up the coast from Santa Cruz, was the winner, with the opportunity to shoot up on the cliffs as well as down by the water. If you’ve never been, it’s very much worth the visit!

Alisha and Matt both have gorgeous warm coloring and it was with this in mind that my gal Katie at Susi’s Flowers created the exact vision I had - light colors of peach and cream florals. We added a handmade gold necklace by Mountainside Made Jewelry and a hat by Urban Outfitters.

Lucky for me, this rad couple was down for anything and I SO appreciated their can-do attitude - whether it was getting up at 5:30 to shoot in the brisk morning air, popping the champagne for mimosas or hiking down to the beach to frolic in the water. They are as good as it gets and the sweetest (did I mention, most photogenic?!) couple you’ll ever find.
